Love Your Children

Here is a letter I received awhile back from a Inspire! list member with the request to pass it on. The reader's son committed suicide when he found out he had AIDS. As December 1st is World's AIDS Day, I felt it appropriate to print the letter, and I agree with the reader's motto that we need to love and accept our children unconditionally. They are a true gift from God!

To all my friends and their friends, I ask you to send this to as many people as you may have on your friends lists. It is a letter from my son, Jason, who would have been 21 years old on July 5th this year. He died from a gun shot wound to the head at his own hand. My quest is simple.....to get everyone with children to love their own children while they can, because as I have found out twice, you never know when they will leave you. Jason is one of two of my children to commit suicide by gunshot. Please, Please pass this on to as many as you can. I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My Motto: LOVE YOUR CHILDREN NO MATTER WHAT THEY MAY BE OR BECOME.......THEY ARE A GIFT FROM GOD, AND YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN HE WILL CALL THEM HOME.

Dear Dad,

I am sorry for what I am about to do, I know you will be angry with me, and blame yourself. Please do not blame yourself, because this is not your fault.

I prayed as you taught me, and asked God to forgive me for what I am about to do, and I believe in my heart He will.

 

     

 

I love you Dad because you are my Dad, and you still loved me even though, I told you I am gay. I listened when you told me to always use protection, but I guess I didn't one time when I should have.

I have gotten Aids, and I didn't want to dies slowly, so I decided this is what I wanted to do. I got this gun, and did what I felt I needed to do, so I wouldn't cause anyone else to suffer.

 

     

 

I want you to remember the fun times we had when I was growing up, and especially the time when you rescued me from that big black bug on the sidewalk at the park.

I want to thank you for all you did for me, and what you taught me when I was with you and your wife.

 

     

 

Like I said please remember me and the fun times we had together.
