These are the things I
hold divine:
Rich brown earth and wind-tossed trees,
A rhythmic gallop, long June days,
The welcome smile on neighbors' faces,
Breeze-blown fields and silver rye,
Fresh spring flowers and scent of box,
Lilacs blooming, a drowsy noon,
A fountain murmur on summer nights,
Simple words and the song of thrush,
With comrade soul my gypsy fare,
A gallant heart and the voice of friends. ~Author Unknown~ |
